The round brilliant cut diamond is by far the most popular diamond shape available today. Round diamonds are considered the most brilliant of all diamond shapes as they are symmetrical and can follow specific proportional guidlines. This allows it to reflect nearly all the light that enters it, giving the diamond maximum brilliance and scintillation.

The princess has pointed corners (can be cut) and is traditionally square in shape however, they can vary greatly in how square or rectangular they are.
